An Acknowledgement is a certification that a signer appeared before the notary, was identified, and declared to have willingly signed the document for its intended purpose.

A Jurat is a certification that a signer personally appeared before the notary with an unsigned document, was identified by the notary, was put under sworn oath or affirmation to attest that the statements in the document were true, then signed the document in the presence of the notary. 

A Verification is a certification that a signer personally appeared before the notary, was identified by the notary, acknowledged signing the document, was put under sworn oath or affirmation, and verified the statements in the document were true.

A Verification is a cross between an Acknowledgment and a Jurat. Unlike a Jurat, the document to be notarized may be signed beforehand.

A Certified Copy of a Non-Recordable Document is a certification that a document was presented to the notary by the document’s custodian, was photocopied by the notary, and is a true, exact, complete, and unaltered copy.

The document cannot be a public record, to which a certified copy can be obtained by an official office, nor a publicly recordable document.

The price for each online notarization is $25 in addition to the regular notary charges as indicated above. You can read more about the legislation about Remote Online Notarization here. Additional fees may apply depending on the platform used to conduct the remote online notarization. These additional fees are separate and apart from Texas Notary Fees.
